At-A-Site Theater presents a Summer Project Celebrating Birthdays of Dead Writers: Lillian Hellman, June 20

Downtown around Pritchard Park, Asheville NC

From 3:30pm-5:30pm

 

Passersby are invited to pick from texts by Hellman which we will then read publicly. Texts include Hellman's Letter to the House Committee on Un-American Activities, monologues from "The Little Foxes", "The Children's Hour", and "Autumn Sonata", and passages from her memoirs "An Unfinished Woman" and "Pentimento".

Between Malaprops bookstore and the Pack Place Main Library from 4pm-5:30pm

 

Passersby are invited to pick a number between 1 and 924. We will read the corresponding "pensée" by the French mathematician, physicist, inventor, writer and Christian philosopher, Blaise Pascal. These were fragments of his writing collected and published after Pascal's death, known as "Pensées" (Thoughts).
